Reminisce about your experience at khareef, capture a melancholic moment, or showcase the bountiful nature for a chance to win this khareef season.
The Ministry of Heritage and Tourism is dedicated to promoting khareef tourism, while social media groups and photographers are also working to showcase the beauty of the season. They are inviting photographs taken in and around khareef spots during the season and will be awarding the best photographers.
The Salalah Travellers Club, a group of backpackers, in collaboration with private entities, is hosting contests that feature stunning, untouched images of Salalah during its green, misty and rainy season.
"We are encouraging people to visit khareef and capture their best moments here. There are no restrictions on contest entries, which run daily for two months. The response has been amazing, with at least 100 photos submitted by amateurs and professionals each day. It shows the beauty of the governorate and the passion of its visitors," said Faisal Backer from Salalah Travellers Club.
Now in its third year, the photography contest has received praise from the Dhofar Municipality and the khareef executive committee for its efforts. The social media groups have nearly 3,000 members across various groups contributing to the photo pool.
"These contests are friendly, and only original photos are accepted. Entries must be taken between June 21 and August 21, 2025, with no video screenshots allowed. Priority will be given to photos taken on mobile devices, and photographers must include the location and date of each photo," added Backer.
