Muscat: Blood reserves at the Central Blood Bank in Bausher have dropped to a critically low level, the Ministry of Health (MoH) said on Tuesday.

The decline, attributed to a significant decrease in the number of donors during the summer months, has raised urgent concerns over the ability to meet the ongoing demand for blood, particularly for patients requiring regular transfusions and emergency care.

In a public appeal issued on July 15, the Ministry of Health urged members of the public to respond swiftly and generously.

According to MoH, donors can donate blood from Saturday to Thursday between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.

The Ministry reiterated the importance of community cooperation in maintaining blood stocks throughout the year, especially during periods of low turnout such as summer vacations.
