Muscat: As the summer heat intensifies across the Sultanate of Oman, the Royal Oman Police (ROP) is urging motorists to conduct regular vehicle inspections and follow essential safety guidelines to prevent fire incidents and ensure public safety.

In an online poster aimed at raising awareness, motorists are reminded of the critical importance of routine vehicle maintenance to detect any mechanical faults or fluid leaks that could lead to overheating or fires.

This came in response to several incidents involving vehicles catching fire, often linked to neglect in pre-summer preparation.

According to the ROP, key safety advice includes avoiding the storage of flammable materials inside vehicles, especially during high temperatures, and ensuring that every vehicle is equipped with a functional fire extinguisher as part of its basic emergency kit.

The ROP pointed out earlier that regular inspection is not just a matter of vehicle performance, it is a matter of safety

Meanwhile, ROP calls on all drivers to be proactive, stressing that a few simple steps can make a significant difference in ensuring the safety of individuals and families on the road this summer.
