Muscat: The police in the Muscat Governorate Police arrested two Egyptian nationals for publishing fake advertisements on social media and marketing programs, offering residential, commercial, and entertainment buildings for rent at low prices.

The motive of their fraud was aimed at receiving bank transfers from victims as a down payment to confirm reservations. They used fake names and contact information for other people to conceal their identities and evade justice. Legal procedures are being completed against them.

Dhofar

Earlier, the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism (MHT) warned that several promoters and social media influencers have been recently promoting unlicensed facilities and buildings, which may lead to legal consequences.

MHT urged all visitors coming to the Dhofar Governorate to ensure that the tourist facility is licensed before making a reservation to ensure the quality of services, obtain competitive prices, and guarantee the rights of the tenant.

The Ministry also provides visitors with a list of licensed tourist facilities in the governorate, which can be viewed by scanning the QR code.
