Muscat: The Central Blood Bank in Bausher has issued an urgent appeal to individuals with blood type O positive to donate immediately, as stock levels have dropped to critically low levels.

The appeal, released on July 1 by the Ministry of Health, cames amid a noticeable decline in donor turnout during this period.

The blood bank stressed that continued demand for O+ blood has placed immense pressure on current supplies.

The bank said an immediate action is needed to restore safe levels necessary for patient care.

“We are currently working to raise stock levels to a secure threshold as quickly as possible, to ensure availability for all patients in need,” the statement read.

Members of the public with O+ blood are encouraged to donate at the Central Blood Bank in Bausher, which operates from Saturday to Thursday between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, and on Fridays from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.
