The tallest flagpole with the national flag was dedicated to the nation on Thursday under the auspices of Sayyid Saud bin Hilal al Busaidy, Governor of Muscat, at the Al Khuwair Square.

The huge Omani national flag, measuring some 25 metres in length and 44 metres in width, more than what it was declared earlier, adorned the peak of the 126-metre-high flagpole.

The event was attended by Ahmed bin Mohammed al Humaidi, Chairman of Muscat Municipality, along with other top officials.

The Al Khuwair Square project extends an area of more than 18,000 square metres and is the result of a successful public-private partnership, fostering collaboration between the Muscat Municipality and Jindal Shadeed Iron and Steel.

This area will be developed into a 18,000-square-metre multipurpose project with a large space dedicated for business activities as well for entertainment.
