Fourth Takatuf Gulf Exhibition opens with ideas for Eid

The fourth Takatuf Gulf Exhibition for small and medium-sized enterprises was inaugurated under the patronage of Abdulsalam bin Mohammed Al Murshidi, President of Oman Investment Authority(OIA in the presence of senior officials from the government and private sectors.


The Takatuf Gulf Exhibition is held in strategic partnership with the Authority of Small and Medium Enterprises Developmentthe and the Oman Chamber of Commerce & Industry, saw active participation with a variety of businesses ranging from boutiques, textiles, accessories, cosmetics, health products, food, etc.


The three day exhibition has a broad participation from 200 Omani entrepreneurs and SMEs from various Gulf (GCC) countries.


The objective of the exhibition is to promote innovation and support entrepreneurship by bringing together a group of startups and small to medium-sized projects showcasing their latest products, providing entrepreneurs with the opportunity to exchange ideas and learn from each other's experiences.


“The exhibition features a distinctive collection of fashion, fabrics, perfumes, incense, accessories, and skincare products, everything needed to celebrate Eid al-Adha and various occasions, especially for brides looking for the best preparations,” explained the organizers.


Ewan Al Teeb specializes skin and hair products with luban dhakar (pure frankincense).


“We are an SME and we have clients from Oman and abroad namely Qatar, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain. We use hundreds of percent Omani frankincense,” explained Nasser Mohammed Al Hashmi.


Zakiya Al Rawahi has got her own product and it looks at fragrance for hair. “We like to have perfume for hair, but perfumes have alcohol and that could be damaging for hair. This is why I have come up with my own product. I make it from pure perfume oils but made very light,” Zakiya explained.


Hind benkirane is from Morocco and her products are based on Aragon oil.


Turkiya Al Zedjali is from Sur and based in Muscat. Her cuts are Bahraini and the embroidery is traditional Suri and her clients are from Oman, Qatar, UAE and Saudi Arabia.


Y luxury brands is by Hind Al Balushi and it is an instagram based business. Ask her what is the current trend and her answer is - linen. “I have collection from UAE, Kuwait and Turkey and accessories that are original brands,” she noted.


Designers from Oman, Bahrain, and the UAE are presenting unique products specifically designed for Takatuf visitors. They have offered special designs and exclusive discounts for the attendees of the exhibition.


In her opening speech, Her Highness Sayyida Hujaija bint Jaifer al Said, Chairwoman of the Organizing Committee of the exhibition, emphasized the importance of supporting small and medium enterprises in enhancing economic growth.


She said, "Our new initiative in this exhibition is that we have provided an opportunity for a number of students, in coordination with the Oman College of Tourism, to train and qualify students in the field of event management and coordination. We hope that the students will benefit from our staff, as we believe that experiences come from practice and continuous work.”


There will also be a special complimentary camp for participating entrepreneurs and business owners after the exhibition, which will include a business lab and an innovation clinic aimed at developing participants' skills and benefiting from one another, in coordination with trainer Basim bin Ahmed Al-Balushi, who specializes in developing work environments and is a consultant in managerial and self-empowerment.


The Gulf Takatuf Exhibition for small and medium enterprises is considered an important step towards enhancing cooperation among Gulf countries in the field of entrepreneurship and developing the local economy as it has regularly seen participation from GCC participants.
