The Sultanate of Oman’s military equestrian team has arrived Arab Republic of Egypt to participate in the 25th edition of Military World Equestrian Championship for show jumping.


The event is organised under the International Military Sports Council from May 3 to 9, at the Armed Forces Equestrian Club with participant of 25 countries around the globe.


Oman’s delegation is composed of riders from the Royal Court Affairs, to underscores ongoing commitment to excellence in military sports and international cooperation.


Ahead of the departure, senior military and sports officials observed the team’s final preparations at the Al Adiyat Royal Cavalry facility in Muscat.


These included Brigadier General (Pilot) Nasser bin Said al Saadi, Assistant Chief of Staff for Training and Joint Exercises at the Sultan’s Armed Forces; Salim bin Abdullah al Abri, Director General of Human Resources and Chairman of the Sports Committee at Royal Court Affairs; and Colonel (Air) Hamad bin Salim al Balushi, Director of Military Sports at the Sultan’s Armed Forces Headquarters.


Lieutenant Colonel Saud bin Mohammed al Harrasi, head of the Oman delegation, affirmed that “The team's participation reflects Oman’s strategic efforts to strengthen its presence in military equestrian sports and to raise the performance levels of its riders and coaches.”


“The championship’s role in enhancing the technical and physical competencies of the athletes through exposure to global experiences and competition.”


Lt. Col. Al Harrasi concluded, “The team prepared well drawing on the momentum from last edition in Qatar. Where Oman secured a gold medal through rider Sergeant Medin bin Said al Yousfi from Royal Court Affairs."
