AL MUSANNAH: The University of Technology and Applied Sciences (UTAS) in Al Musannah on Monday hosted the second edition of its university library forum under the title 'Libraries and Information Institutions in the Era of Digital Revolution: The Transformation of Present and Future'.
The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Shaikh Ahmed bin Ali al Habsi, Wali of Al Musannah.
The forum served as a key knowledge platform to enhance the role of libraries in keeping pace with digital transformation and adopting artificial intelligence (AI) tools. It addressed contemporary issues and facilitated the exchange of expertise among specialists, contributing to shaping a more advanced future for this vital sector.
The event featured several research papers discussing diverse topics, including 'Ethics of Using AI in Scientific Research'. Successful experiences in implementing AI in libraries and information institutions were also highlighted, with contributions from the Ministry of Education and Sultan Qaboos University.
Additionally, the forum included a panel discussion with a number of library directors and experts specialising in AI applications in libraries and information institutions.
