AL MUDHAIBI: The 12th edition of the Sword of Excellence Camel Racing Festival concluded at Al Batha Camel Race Track in the Wilayat of Al Mudhaibi, Al Sharqiyah North Governorate. The event was organised by the Camel Racing Committee.

Held over two days, the festival featured competitive races over a distance of 1,500 metres, drawing wide participation from camel owners across Oman.

Al Abd bin Ali al Wahibi, a member of the organising committee, stated, “This festival is part of our continuous efforts to revive our ancestral heritage and preserve the traditional sport of camel racing, which is an integral part of Oman’s cultural identity.” He highlighted that the festival’s success and the enthusiastic participation were driven by the generous prizes and support from various sectors.

The festival concluded with an award ceremony presided over by Mahmoud bin Yahya al Thuhli, Governor of Al Sharqiyah North, who honoured the winners with both cash and in-kind prizes. The highlight of the ceremony was the crowning of the champion with the coveted Sword of Excellence. - ONA
