Al Alam Palace holds its iconic presence as one of the major tourist attractions in Oman.

Holiday-makers continue to explore many tourist sites in Oman, but Al Alam Palace in Muscat has been charming the visitors over the Eid holidays.

The gold and blue facade of the palace mesmerised the tourists as the cameras clicked away. Being at the right time matters because then one can enjoy the best of photography with the perfect lighting.

The arched marble corridors of the complex that is between the palace ground and the National Museum is also an architectural attraction.

Cars with neighbouring countries' number plates were present in the parking lot, along with taxis and Mawsalat buses along with vehicles belonging to residents. Mawsalat’s Bus number 4 takes passengers to the Al Alam Palace. Different nationalities made their way towards the front of the gate.

The palace was rebuilt in 1972, according to records, while the original structure was built at least two centuries ago. The blue and gold structure of the palace has indeed become an iconic landmark of Oman and thus a major attraction for visitors. The palace has hosted many heads of state over the years.

A trip to Muscat starts with the Muscat Gate Museum. Once in front of the palace, surrounded by the beautiful garden, the visitors indulge in photography. The location provides one with ample opportunity to walk. Opposite Al Alam Palace is the Oman National Museum.

One can also drive to the seaside and enjoy the view of the palace from there. In addition, photography and history enthusiasts can also enjoy the sight of the two forts — Al Jalali and Al Mirani. The palace is situated between these two Portuguese-built forts.
