

AL BURAIMI: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, in collaboration with the Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning, has announced the launch of six new agricultural investment opportunities in Al Buraimi Governorate through the "Tatweer" platform. This initiative aims to attract investors, support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and enhance agricultural production using modern technologies.
The investment opportunities span a total area of 29.6 acres, strategically distributed across the Wilayat of Mahadha. A flagship project in Al Zaroub, covering 4.6 acres, focuses on the cultivation and production of leafy vegetable crops using advanced farming techniques to promote sustainable agriculture. Additionally, five investment opportunities have been allocated for SMEs in Safwan, Mahadha, each covering five acres. These projects include the cultivation of leafy green crops, vegetable farming using modern agricultural methods, garlic and onion cultivation, potato farming and seasonal fodder production.
The Tatweer platform provides a seamless electronic application process, making it easier for investors to apply and participate in these opportunities. This move aligns with the government's broader strategy to enhance food security, support SMEs and boost agricultural efficiency in Oman.
Eng Nasser bin Ali al Marshoudi, Director General of the General Directorate of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Al Buraimi Governorate, revealed that more than 20 additional agricultural investment opportunities will be announced in the coming week. These projects will cover both plant and animal production sectors, aiming to contribute to food security and job creation in the region. Furthermore, he stated that the ministry, in cooperation with the General Directorate of Housing and Urban Planning, plans to launch 50 new agricultural investment opportunities in 2025.
