Muscat: An investment opportunity has been announced at the business gate plot in the Muscat International Airport city.

The Business Gate will be the focal point of the Corporate Cluster with commercial spaces allocated for corporate international and local companies, which will be supported by flexible meeting spaces, retail offerings, hospitality spaces, and limited residential spaces to serve employees and their visitors. The Corporate Cluster has the potential to be self-sufficient and to meet most of the needs of its users.

The request for proposal (RFP) can be collected till January 25 after registering with the Oman Airport vendor management portal.

It may be noted that the Ministry of Transport and Communications and Information Technology (MTCITY) has plans to develop a Muscat Airport City as part of the National Aviation Strategy 2030.

Muscat Airport City is aimed at achieving the highest levels of utilization of the new airport’s high capacity and increasing air traffic. It also takes advantage of the land areas surrounding the airport to create a stimulating environment for the establishment of aviation-related projects.

The Airport City will also include a logistic city envisioned to optimize land usage and efficiency to meet the demand for logistic activities, with cargo buildings having direct access to the airfield, in addition to creating an international cargo hub.

Recently, DHL Express inaugurated a logistics facility at Muscat International Airport, which will have a ground operations hub, an import/export gateway, and a regional office, with the capacity to process approximately 2,400 shipments per hour while serving more than 4,200 customers.

Asyad Group has begun construction work on the Muscat Airport Free Zone, marking the launch of the first phase of the project, which includes preparing and leveling the land, and establishing an internal road network and public service facilities, in addition to an administrative office complex that is expected to be developed in partnership with the private sector.

The project aims to provide a modern and attractive business environment that contributes to attracting global and regional companies, financial institutions, general trading companies, and start-ups; thus enhancing the free zone’s capacity as a global business center that attracts foreign direct investment and provides world-class logistical support and facilities.
