State Council panel debates Anti-Human Trafficking bill

Muscat: The State Council’s Legal Committee discussed the Anti-Human Trafficking bill which was referred to it by the Council of Ministers at its eleventh meeting of the second regular session of the eighth term held on Monday .


During its meeting, chaired by Shaikh Sultan bin Matar al Azizi, Chairman of the Legal Committee, and attended by the honourable members of the committee and a number of employees of the Secretariat-General, the Committee reviewed the report of Majlis Ash’shura on the draft law which the Sultanate of Oman’s efforts to underpin human rights and consolidate the values of justice.


The Anti-Human Trafficking bill aims to keep pace with practical developments, as well as adapt to regional and international experiences in the field of combating human rights violations.
