

MUSCAT: The 7th Scout and Guiding Forum for Persons with Disabilities concluded under the theme 'Towards a Sustainable Digital Future.' The event, held at Al Amal Club in Airport Heights, Muscat Governorate, was graced under the auspices of HH Sayyidah Hujaijah bint Jaifer al Said.
This forum is part of ongoing efforts by relevant authorities to support and empower people with disabilities, increase their community participation, and promote their full integration into various sectors of life. Additionally, the event sought to enhance the role of individuals with disabilities in building a sustainable, digitally-driven future.
The closing ceremony featured a musical performance by the Omar bin Al Khattab Institute for the Blind, followed by presentations from scouting and guiding units affiliated with special education schools. The event also recognised participants, as well as supporting and participating organisations.
Rashida bint Ali al Zadjaliyah, Head of the Stages Development and Guiding Membership Department, shared that the forum attracted 150 scouts and guides, alongside 50 leaders and supervisors from special education schools.
She emphasised that the forum served as a vital platform for exchanging experiences and ideas, raising awareness of issues faced by people with disabilities, and showcasing their potential in the digital field. This contributes to their integration and participation in building an advanced and inclusive digital society. — ONA
