Washington - US President Donald Trump said he is not currently ready to make a deal to end the war with Iran.

"Iran wants to make a deal, and I don't want to make it because the terms aren't good enough yet," Trump told NBC News in remarks published on Saturday. When asked what conditions would need to be met, he replied: "I don't want to say that to you."

Trump did confirm that any agreement would require Iran to give up all nuclear ambitions. Senior Iranian officials have not publicly indicated they are ready to negotiate a deal to end the conflict.
