MUSCAT: The Sultanate of Oman, represented by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, will host the Omani-Turkish Knowledge Dialogue on Monday, in cooperation with the Turkish Embassy in Muscat and the Ataturk Foundation for Culture, Language and History in the Republic of Türkiye and will last for 3 days.
Dr Maryam bint Belarab al Nabhaniyah, Director-General of Private Universities and Colleges at the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation, underscored the importance of the event in terms of strengthening the partnership between the Sultanate of Oman and the Republic of Türkiye in the fields of education, research, technology and culture.
She explained its importance in twinning higher education institutions of the Sultanate of Oman with their counterparts in the Republic of Türkiye, enhancing scientific research between these institutions through joint research programmes and exchange of researchers, enhancing academic exchange between, encouraging the establishment of research and development centres, promoting the study of the Arabic language in the Sultanate of Oman and enhancing joint investment in education, scientific research and innovation.
She stated that the Omani-Turkish Knowledge Dialogue will be attended by a number of academics, researchers and decision-makers from the two countries to discuss ways to enhance cooperation and exchange of knowledge and expertise.
She noted that the forum will include a number of dialogue sessions in the humanities and natural sciences according to national priorities and the goals of the Oman Vision 2040 with the participation of 17 Turkish universities in addition to a number of Turkish research and cultural centres, private higher education institutions and a number of government educational institutions in the Sultanate of Oman.
The Omani-Turkish Knowledge Dialogue is part of the Ministry’s efforts aimed at enhancing cultural and knowledge cooperation with sisterly and friendly countries. — ONA
