Muscat: The Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation has issued a directive to suspend in-person learning and switch to remote learning.

This move, effective from noon on September 30, affects educational institutions across several wilayats, including South Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, North Al Sharqiyah, Al Dhahirah, parts of South Al Sharqiyah, and the southern parts of Muscat.

The decision was made following an alert from the National Early Warning Center, which forecasted heavy rainfall in the areas surrounding the Hajar Mountains. The Civil Aviation Authority had already issued a weather alert earlier for Monday, predicting the spread of convective clouds and thunderstorms, especially over mountainous and coastal regions such as Suwaiq, Saham, Suhar, and Rustaq.

Authorities urge caution as the unstable weather continues, affecting large parts of the country.
