Al BURAIMI: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources is undertaking maintenance projects for several water dams in Al Buraimi Governorate, with a total budget exceeding RO 686,000. According to Eng Nasser bin Ali al Marshoudi, Director-General of Agricultural Wealth and Water Resources in Al Buraimi, maintenance of the Mahadha Dam is underway with a 20-per cent completion rate and a cost of RO 407,000.


The other projects include Masilik Dam: RO 115,000 (20 per cent completed), Masah Dam: RO 52,000 (30 per cent completed), Haywan Dam: RO 50,000 (28 per cent completed), Abu Qala Dam: RO 8,000 (86 per cent completed) and Al Juwaif Dam: RO 51,000. These initiatives aim to enhance water resource sustainability, support agriculture and strengthen water security across Oman. - ONA
