AL JABAL AL AKHDHAR: The 'Pomegranate Harvesting in Al Jabal Al Akhdhar' event, part of the 'Rummana' festival, commenced on Friday in the Wilayat of Al Jabal Al Akhdhar, Al Dakhiliyah Governorate . The festival will run until September 28.


Khalid bin Hamad al Aghbari, Head of the Field Work Team at the Agritourism Development Company (Janaen), noted a significant turnout on the first day of harvesting, with visitors from both domestic and international locations. Since its launch on July 4, the 'Rummana' event has attracted over 41,600 visitors, with expectations for increased attendance as the pomegranate harvest season peaks. The festival highlights Al Jabal Al Akhdhar's agricultural tourism, showcasing environmentally friendly practices and offering unique experiences. This year's harvest is anticipated to yield over 8.5 tonnes from 667 pomegranate trees.
