Muscat: The Higher Education Admission Centre (HEAC) at the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation on Sunday began conducting admission tests, personal interviews and medical examinations for the 2024/2025 academic year and will conclude on August 15.

The HEAC said that 4,046 candidates are vying for 2,297 seats in several disciplines including education and health specializations, military technical college specializations and many more.

The HEAC explained that the admission depends on the result of the interview, test or medical examination that are required by each educational institution as well as the number of seats available and the student’s competitive rate compared to other successful candidates. Failure to attend the interview or test deprives the student from competing for a certain programme.

The results of the first sorting will be announced on Tuesday, August 20. — ONA
