MUSCAT: The Royal Academy of Management (RAM), in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Research and Innovation, is organising the Future of Higher Education Institutions forum.


The forum targets university presidents, deans of public and private colleges, as well as representatives from the public and private sectors at local and regional levels. It will take place on May 1 and 2.


Dr Ali bin Qasim al Lawati, President of the Royal Academy of Management, stated that the forum is part of the academy's programmes and initiatives that embody the noble vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik. It will enhance administrative leadership at various levels through different knowledge domains, constructive discussions, executive education, and institutional innovation.


He explained that the forum will address topics related to emerging global trends in higher education, such as national competitiveness, innovation and the future of work and business. It will also examine global indicators and rankings, revolutionary technologies, artificial intelligence, and sustainable growth.


The forum will discuss the changes in the higher education sector, knowledge exchange, and shared challenges with the aim of enabling leadership to understand emerging developments and trends that affect higher education institutions.


This will enhance partnerships between public and private educational institutions and build new visions that promote innovation and support economic growth. Additionally, the forum aims to enhance the capacity of educational institutions to address future challenges and leverage emerging opportunities. It also aims to understand the impact on national competitiveness and innovation, explore innovative financing and the use of digital technologies to achieve financial sustainability and artificial intelligence. It will prepare for the future of work, strike a balance between quality and market requirements, and explore innovative and future models for higher education institutions.
