Al Rustaq: Al Rustaq Wildlife Reserve in the South Al Batinah Governorate is a magnet for tourists and adventure enthusiasts alike. It boasts amazing natural components such as mountains, valleys, water bodies and dense trees on the banks of the valleys and that makes it an ideal place for ecotourism.

The Directorate of Environment in South Al Batinah Governorate follows up and monitors the reserve to reduce violations that threaten the reserve and its wildlife as well as preserve its natural beauty.

Stretching on an area of 254 square kilometers, Al Rustaq Wildlife Reserve is home to 6 species of wild mammals namely the endangered Arabian ibex, the mountain fox, the lynx, the white-tailed mongoose, and the hedgehog. Besides, there are 15 species of wild birds including eagles and ospreys and other bird species that live in mountains. — ONA
