Muscat: Heavy rains lashed the Muscat governorate on Tuesday night and continued until the early hours with no casualties reported.

While people generally stayed in their homes following the alerts from the competent authorities, there were some reports of rescue operations conducted by the Civil Defence and Ambulance Authority (CDAA).

Rescue teams from CDAA in Muscat safely rescued a person after his vehicle was stranded in Wadi Adei in the Wilayat of Muttrah.

For the safety of road users, traffic was closed on Al Amerat - Bausher Mountain road.

CDAA responded to a report of rising water levels in a house in Bausher and five people were evacuated and transferred to a shelter home.

The rescue teams in Muscat dealt with a report of the detention of four people inside a vehicle in a wadi in the Al-Amerat, who were safely rescued.

The teams also dealt with an accident where heavy equipment and a person were trapped in the Wadi Al Khoud stream in Seeb.

All of them were safely rescued.

Six people were safely rescued in Al Dakhiliyah Governorate after their vehicle was stranded in a wadi in the Nizwa.
