Four Omani riders qualify for Endurance World Cup

Muscat: The Royal Cavalry riders Hisham bin Saleh al Farsi on horseback 'Plexima' and Ahmed bin Salim al Hamadani on 'Kasbah' qualified for the World Endurance Cup Championship, which will be held in France on September.


The two Omani riders qualified after passing the Saumer race in France, which was organised by the International Equestrian Federation, for a distance of 160 km.


Previously, the two riders, Mahmoud bin Marhoon al Fawri, through the horse 'Dalila' and Saleh bin Salim al Balushi through the horse 'Astick', qualified through the same race.


Saumer race included five stages, the distance of the first stage was 40 km, the second stage was 40 km, the third stage was 32 km, the fourth stage was 26 km and the distance of the fifth stage was 22 km.

Four Omani riders qualified for the World Cup from both the qualifying races in France.


The fifth Omani rider Hussein al Farsi, riding the Royal Cavalry's horse 'Fanshdoh', successfully completed the stages of the race, leaving him with one three-star race to qualify for the World Cup.


On the other hand, the Royal Cavalry participated in the one-star Saumur race for a distance of 100 km and won second and third places, where knight Faisal bin Ibrahim al Farsi took second place on 'Kara' and knight Mahmoud bin Marhoon al Fawri took third place on 'Salam'. The race was divided into four stages, the distance of the first stage was 32 km, the second stage was 26 km, the third stage was 22 km and the distance of the fourth and final stage was 20 km.
