Muscat: The number of inbound visitors to the country increased by 21.5 percent to 389,506 in February this year, compared to 320,541 in 2023 during the same period.
There was an increase of 33.5 percent in the number of European visitors and 29.2 percent in the GCC visitors during the same period.
A total of 130,415 Europeans visited the Sultante of Oman in February, which included 40,000 German and 29,000 Italian visitors.
A total of 95,316 Asian nations visited the Sultanate of Oman during the same period, which included 89,000 Indian nationals.
Around 227,000 GCC nationals visited the Sultanate, followed by 33,000 Yemenis.
Outbound visitors
Around 72 percent of the 606,130 outbound visitors from the Sultanate were Omanis in February 2024.
The number of outbound visitors from the Sultanate dropped by 23.7 percent from 807,233 in 2023
In the first two months of this year, 746,000 visitors arrived in the country, compared to 1.5 million visitors leaving the country.
Airport passengers
At the same time, 1,173,304 passengers used the Muscat Airport in February this year, compared to 953,534 in 2023, an increase of 23 percent, while 111,571 passengers used the Salalah Airport.
