MUSCAT: Oman’s total imports of vehicle spare parts in 2023 amounted to RO114.228 million, a decrease of 29.1 per cent compared to 2022 with RO 161.106 million.
Data issued by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI) indicated that the total weight of vehicle spare parts imported by Oman last year reached to about 27.277 million kilogrammes.
The United Arab Emirates topped the countries in supplying vehicle spare parts to Oman in 2023 with a value of RO 46.087 million, followed by Japan with RO 41.059 million, Thailand with RO 6.703 million and China with RO 4.577 million.
On the other hand, statistics showed that the total value of Oman’s exports of vehicle spare parts in 2023 was about RO 92.102 million, a decrease of 15.3 per cent compared to the value of exports in 2022 with RO 108.745 million.
The total weight of vehicle spare parts exported in 2023 reached 40.978 million kilogrammes.
The United Arab Emirates came at the forefront of countries importing vehicle spare parts from Oman last year, with a value of RO 39.124 million, followed by the United States with RO 8.226 million, Czech Republic with RO 7.67 million.
The total number of institutions and establishments selling spare parts for motor vehicles in Oman in 2022 reached 3,202 institutions. — ONA
