Muscat: The number of Facebook users surged by 102 percent in the Sultanate in the first half of 2023, compared to the second half of 2022, according to the report by the Telecom Regulatory Authority (TRA).
Also, during this period, Snapchat saw an increase of 31 percent in the number of users, followed by Instagram (27 percent), YouTube (18 percent), X (15 percent) and WhatsApp (12 percent).
There has been an increase of four percent in Mobile Broadband usage between Q4, 20202, and Q3, 2023 to 7.30 GB per subscription.

The total Mobile Broadband subscription has increased by 120 percent to 5,937,159 and the average monthly revenue per subscription is RO3.248
According to a report by World of Statistics, these are the most ‘popular’ social media platforms by monthly users as of October 2023.
Facebook is ranked as the most ‘popular’ social media platform worldwide as it has about three billion monthly active users.
YouTube ranked second with about 2.49 billion monthly active users while WhatsApp is ranked third with about two billion monthly active users
Instagram is ranked fourth with about two billion monthly active users and LinkedIn is eighth on the list with about 930 million monthly active users.
