Housing ministry signs 26 usufruct pacts worth RO 6.5 million

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Planning signed on Sunday, December 24, 2023, a total of 26 usufruct agreements worth over RO 6.5 million. The contracts cover a variety of sectors, including commercial, industrial, agricultural, and educational, and are spread across several governorates of the Sultanate of Oman.


The signing of these contracts is part of the ministry's efforts to promote sustainable economic development, create new job opportunities, and provide diverse investment opportunities for individuals and businesses. It also reflects the importance of institutional cooperation and integration in achieving these goals.


The contracts are concentrated in the Al Buraimi Governorate, with 13 contracts in the agricultural and livestock sector covering a total area of 755,000 square meters. In the Muscat Governorate, three contracts were signed in the education sector and one in the commercial sector, covering a total area of 13,000 square meters.


In the South Al-Batinah Governorate, three contracts were signed in the industrial and agricultural sectors, covering a total area of 18,000 square meters. In the North Al-Batinah Governorate, one contract was signed in the industrial sector, covering a total area of 200,000 square meters. In the Al-Dhahirah Governorate, two contracts were signed in the commercial sector, covering a total area of 55,000 square meters.


The contracts were signed by the ministry's Under-Secretary for Housing, Eng Hamad bin Ali al Nizwani, and representatives of the companies and institutions investing in the projects. They were also attended by the Under-Secretary for Agriculture and Fisheries, Water Resources, and Agriculture, and the Chairman of the Authority for the Development of Small and Medium Enterprises.


The ministry expects that these contracts will contribute to a number of positive economic and social impacts, including: Boosting investment in various economic sectors; Creating new job opportunities; and Meeting the development needs of Oman's various governorates.
