SQU students shine at wooden bridge competition

The students from Sultan Qaboos University achieved first and second place in the 14th Annual Wooden Bridge Competition held at The American University in Dubai. The competition was organised by the AUD ASCE-ACI Student Chapter. The SQU team secured the first place in the best bridge design evaluation. This competition saw participation from various groups representing different countries and universities, converging in one place for assessment.


This competition provided engineering students across the region with an opportunity to demonstrate their skills in a practical setting, moving beyond traditional classroom learning. It’s a unique event that brings together students from various backgrounds, fostering a competitive yet amicable environment focused on designing and constructing wooden bridges.
