Ruwi Malayali Association hosts iftar gathering and children's competitions

Muscat: In a collaborative effort aimed at community engagement and enrichment, the Ruwi Malayali Association (RMA) and Ruwi Lulu Hypermarket joined hands to organize a series of events in Muscat. These activities included a drawing, colouring competition, health awareness classes, and an Iftar meet, drawing widespread participation and appreciation from the community.


During the school vacation period, the drawing, colouring competition saw enthusiastic participation from hundreds of students across sub-junior, junior, and senior categories. The event not only provided a platform for creative expression but also fostered a sense of camaraderie among the participants.


At the subsequent public event, Mr. Faizal Aluva, President of RMA, welcomed the attendees, setting the stage for an evening of community bonding. General Secretary Sunil Nair delivered the opening speech, emphasizing the importance of such initiatives in promoting cultural exchange and healthy living. The gathering witnessed warm exchanges among community members, including Neethu Jithin, Asif, Shajahan, Aby M Varughese, Bennett, Sujith Sugunan, Pradeep, Naseer, Shyju Vadakara, and Sachin.


Under the guidance of Dr. Aftab Muhammad, a health education class was conducted, focusing on imparting valuable knowledge and tips for maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The session aimed to empower participants with essential information to lead healthier lives.


The highlight of the event was the distribution of prizes sponsored by Rizan Gold & Diamonds to the competition winners. Lulu Hypermarket General Manager Mr. Shajahan, along with dignitaries including Faizal Aluvu, Sunil Nair, Santhosh KR, Dr. Aftab Muhammad, Baiju PK (ISD), and Shayu, presented the awards to the deserving winners across different categories.


In the sub-junior category, Huda Fatima clinched the Gold Coin, while Kashinath and Shivanay Sreekumar secured the second and third prize Trophies respectively. In the junior category, Protushya bagged the Gold Coin, followed by Ovinath and Gopika Promoj as the second and third prize winners. In the senior category, Sia emerged victorious with the Gold Coin, while Rohan Sajeesh and Thahalila secured the second and third prize Trophies.


In recognition of their participation, all children received certificates and encouragement prizes sponsored by Lulu Hypermarket Ruwi. Additionally, Iftar kits were distributed to all participants and guests, adding a touch of festivity to the occasion.


Expressing gratitude to all participants, winners, and sponsors, Mr. Santhosh KR, Treasurer of RMA, extended heartfelt thanks, acknowledging their collective effort in making the event a resounding success. The collaborative endeavor between RMA and Ruwi Lulu Hypermarket exemplifies the spirit of community involvement and underscores the importance of fostering meaningful connections within the society.
