MUSCAT: The spirit of the holy month of Ramadhan resonated at the iftar that the Korean Embassy co-organised with the 'OK Nuri club' at the embassy hall recently.

The 'OK Nuri', a voluntary group of Omani fans of Korean culture, stands for Oman-Korea Nuri, an Arabic word for light.

Both the Korean Embassy and the OK Nuri club has co-hosted the iftar under the theme of 'sharing and caring' in a series of annual events.

The Omani and Korean participants shared their respective food and were reminded of the messages of compassion, patience and benevolence of Ramadhan.

Korean Ambassador Kiejoo Kim underscored the value of Ramadhan as the holy month is a time of reflection. He said, “We pursue our collective contribution to the world.” Ambassador Kim further shared the special importance of this year for the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Korea and Oman.

He expressed his appreciation to the Omani government and people for their devoted efforts to promote outstanding bilateral partnership to the mutual benefit of the two countries.

In commemorating the 50th anniversary, he mentioned that the support of Omani friends including that of the OK Nuri would be instrumental in steering the partnership beyond the earlier achievements.
