Temperatures will continue to dip and more rains are likely as Oman braces back-to-back weather systems, according to the National Multi-Hazard Early Warning Center of the Civil Aviation Authority.

A trough of a low pressure system will start from Monday until Wednesday ( March 4 to March 6) with advection of clouds over the governorates of Musandam, Al Batinah North, and Al Buraimi. There may be isolated rain of varying intensity and chances for wadis to overflow. The impact is expected to gradually extend to Al Hajar Mountains and the coastal areas of Sea of Oman.

In addition, the latest weather updates indicate the chance of the impact of another trough starting from Friday until the following week. The Centre is monitoring the upcoming events and will issue any updates when necessary.

Meanwhile, the Northeast wind activity continued on Friday and the authority issued an alert for fresh wind starting from Saturday 2 am until 6 pm on Saturday with a wind speed ranging between 15 and 35 knots.

On Friday, the condition also caused a decrease in visibility due to the rise of dust and dirt in Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah and Al Buraimi. In addition, the latest weather updates indicate the chance of the impact of another trough starting from Friday until the following week.

Temperatures will continue to drop across all governorates of the Sultanate of Oman until the next two days, coinciding with northwesterly winds blowing over deserts and northeasterly winds blowing over governorates overlooking the Sea of Oman, according to weather forecast.

Sea waves will continue to rise until Saturday with the sea being moderate to rough with waves (2.0-2.5) metres in Musandam and the other coastal areas around Sea of Oman. The sea will be calm to medium waves (1.5-2. 0) metres on parts of the coast of the Arabian Sea.
