CAA hosts regional workshop on satellite applications

MUSCAT: The Regional Workshop on Satellite Applications organised by the Centre of Excellence for Satellite Applications at the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in cooperation with the European Organisation for Satellite Applications will begin today, Sunday, and will last for several days.


The workshop aims to train aviation specialists in the Middle East on analysing satellite outputs for weather monitoring and its various applications. It includes practical discussion sessions that enable trainees to analyze satellite images and processing methods.


Participating in the workshop are several experts from the European Organisation for Satellite Applications and local experts from Oman and regional countries.


The Centre of Excellence for Satellite Applications at the Civil Aviation Authority is one of the most important centrrs responsible for training countries in the region on satellite applications and analysing their outputs to serve real-time forecasts in tracking weather phenomena such as tropical cyclones and other phenomena that affect communities. — ONA
