Muscat : The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) launched its new website in line with its digital transformation on the occasion of International Civil Aviation Day.
The website was launched by Salim bin Mohammed al Mahrouqi, Minister of Heritage and Tourism, and Eng Naif bin Ali al Abri, chairman, CAA.
The website will enhance the user experience by facilitating easy browsing and access to information for the visitors.
The website contains laws and regulations, open data, media releases, and posts electronic information, the rights and duties of travellers, frequently asked questions, and the complaints feature, apart from platforms for submitting applications for licences and permits.
Al Abri said that digital transformation is one of the necessities for all government and private institutions for continuous development and improvement of their administrative functions and the services they provide and facilitating their access to beneficiaries.
CAA also launched a special commemorative postage stamp on the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of the Sultanate of Oman’s accession to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICA) in the presence of Al Abri and Shaikh Ibrahim bin Sultan al Hosani, Acting CEO of Oman Post and Asyad Express.
The postage stamp displays the historical sequence of the civil aviation sector in the Sultanate of Oman since the establishment of the first airport at Bait Al Falaj in 1929 and the further developments, which include the opening of the New International Airport building in 2018.
