Committee on National Civil Aviation Strategy meets

Muscat: The Supervisory Committee for the project to prepare the National Civil Aviation Strategy 2040 held its meeting under the chairmanship of Eng. Naif bin Ali al Abri, Chairman of the Civil Aviation Authority, on Tuesday at the headquarters of the Civil Aviation Authority.


The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of Transport, Communications and Information Technology for Transport, the Deputy Head of the Oman Vision 2040 Implementation Follow-up Unit, the Undersecretary at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism for Tourism, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion for Investment Promotion, a representative of the Omani Investment Authority, the Assistant Director General of Airport Security, and the CEO of Oman Airports.


The meeting was also attended by the acting CEO of Oman Air, the CEO of Salam Air, the CEO of Sharqiyah Aviation, the Executive Director of Urban Strategy, and the Assistant Director of the air operations center of the Royal Air Force of Oman (RAFO), apart from the project work team.


The meeting included a presentation during which the sector’s goals until 2040 were discussed, including strategic initiatives to achieve the sector’s goals and implementation plans.


The work on the project to prepare the National Aviation Strategy 2040 started in September last year.
