Muscat: Seeb secured an impressive 94-30 victory over Salalah at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher during the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Youth Shield basketball competition for the 2023-2024 season. Seeb dominated the match in all periods, while Salalah struggled to maintain focus due to the experience gap.


The match began with Seeb's Rashid al Wahaibi scoring two points with a shot from under the basket. The team continued to apply pressure in the operations area, defending against Salalah's attacks. Seeb increased the lead by scoring 8 more points, with Ahmed al Sinani contributing two points, and his team-mate Rashid al Zahibi adding six consecutive points after three shots from under the basket. Seeb led by 10 points. Salalah responded with two points scored by Ahmed Beit Fadhah. The exchanges continued with Seeb maintaining their offensive advantage by adding 16 points, while Salalah managed to score only two points. The first quarter ended with Seeb leading 26-4.

In the second quarter, the game followed a similar scenario. Seeb's Hassan al Faraji scored two points after a shot from under the basket. Salalah responded with two points from Mohamed al Houti. The excitement continued with more attacks, and both teams scored, with Seeb adding 21 points, while Salalah scored 8 points. The first half ended with Seeb leading Salalah 49-13.


As the game progressed, the third quarter saw Salalah improve their offensive play, scoring 11 points. Seeb added 26 points, resulting a lead of 75-24 at the end of the third quarter. The fourth quarter continued with both teams exchanging points. Seeb added 19 points, while Salalah scored 6 points. The match concluded with Seeb securing victory by 94-30.


The international referees for the match were Rashid al Mashifri as the first referee, and Saleh al Khulas as the second referee, with Mazen al Hilali as the third referee. On the table were Mariam al Zadjali, Ghalib al Hasani and Shareefa al Zadjali.
