MUSCAT: Al Bashayer clinched a 85-35 victory against Ahli Sidab in the final round match of Oman Basketball League 2023-24 at the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex in Bausher on Sunday.
With this triumph, Al Bashayer advance to the decisive match against Seeb, as both teams are tied with 25 points each.
The match was a real opportunity for Al Bashayer to showcase their strength before facing Seeb. The team delivered an impressive performance in all quarters, with Beit Bakheet scoring four consecutive points. Then Ahli Sidab's Sami al Ghaillani responded with a three-pointer. The exchange of attacks continued, with Al Bashayer adding 10 points and Ahli Sidab scoring 5 points. The first quarter ended with Al Bashayer leading 14-8.
In the second quarter, Al Bashayer's Basam al Busaidi scored a three-pointer as Ahmed al Hasani replied with two points for Ahli Sidab.
Both teams continued their offensive attempts, and the first half concluded with Al Bashayer leading 41-16.
The third quarter witnessed ongoing attacks, with Al Bashayer widening the lead to 31 points at 49-18. The third quarter ended with Al Bashayer leading 63-23.
In the fourth quarter, Ahli Sidab's Amir al Hadidi scored two points, but Al Bashayer responded with four points to widen the gap to 67-25. The attempts from both teams continued, and the match concluded with Al Bashayer winning by 85-35.
International referee Issam al Siyabi officiated as the first referee, Rashed al Mashifri as the second referee and Thani al Khalasi as the third referee. On the table were Mahmoud al Ajmi, Munira al Namani, Sherifa al Zadjali, and international referee Fares al Khalasi as the technical observer for the match.

An exciting confrontation is set for the final of the Oman Basketball League between Seeb and Al Bashayer.
At 6 pm on Tuesday, basketball enthusiasts will turn their attention to the Sultan Qaboos Sports Complex as the final match of the 2023-2024 season will unveil the champion of the Oman Basketball League between Seeb and Al Bashayer.
This showdown provides an opportunity for both teams to showcase outstanding performances and compete for a new title. Seeb, seeking their sixth title, are determined after their defeat in the previous season against Al Bashayer. National coach Kazem al Balushi is working on an effective plan to exploit the players's skills, including American professional Bryce.
On the other hand, Al Bashayer aim to maintain the title and secure the championship for the fourth time. American coach Collier Wilton acknowledges the importance of the match and relies on his team's strength in organisation and balance between national and American players.
Oman Basketball Association Chairman Eng Khalfan bin Saleh al Naabi will attend the final, under the auspices of Dr Nasser bin Rashid al Maawali, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy.
