AL SUWAIQ: Jusoor Foundation laid the cornerstone for the Investment Building Project of Al Suwaiq Sports Club in the Wilayat of Suwaiq, Al Batinah North Governorate, with an investment of RO 200,000.

The event was held under the patronage of Shaikh Issa bin Ahmed al Maashani, Wali of Al Suwaiq, in the presence of the board members of Al Suwaiq Sports Club, Jusoor Foundation's Management, and representatives from government departments and companies funding the project.

Shaikh Hamdan bin Sebaa al Saadi, Vice Chairman, Board of Al Suwaiq Sports Club, emphasised the project will contribute to enriching the club's sports and cultural activities. Additionally, it will propel various sports forward and enable their regular organisation in line with the financial income generated from the project upon its completion.

He added, "the partnership established between the private sector and sports clubs in Oman, in general, is purposeful to drive Omani sports towards improvement. Strengthening the role of the private sector in developing and supporting sports activities across various disciplines conducted by sports clubs will have a positive effect on all members and players in those clubs.

The meeting chaired by HH Sayyid Firas bin Fatik bin Fahr expressed gratitude to Jusoor Foundation and its founding companies OQ, Sohar Aluminium, and Vale in Oman for their support, which will have a positive impact on the sports and cultural activities of the club.

It was hoped that other companies in Oman take the same direction towards effectively supporting the sports sector." Jaber bin Sulaiman al Busaidy, Executive Manager of Jusoor Foundation, clarified that the Investment Building Project of Al Suwaiq Sports Club falls within the cultural and sports domain projects undertaken by the foundation.

The project is being constructed on a 1,100 square metre area, comprising two floors. The first floor is designed for rental exhibition spaces, while the second floor is allocated for four open office spaces for rent, in addition to parking facilities. He noted that the project's implementation period is 18 months.

He further explained that the laying of the cornerstone for the project marks the continuation of the financing and cooperation agreement signed between the Jusoor Foundation and the club in May this year.

Al Busaidy indicated that the investment building project will come up in the Ghala Industrial Area and the project aims to achieve local added value by appointing local companies to provide their services in engineering consulting and construction works.

Jusoor Foundation aims to achieve its objectives in the sports and cultural sectors by supporting investment building projects for the sports clubs in Al Batinah North Governorate. This marks the sixth building project undertaken by Jusoor for sports clubs following previous investment buildings in Suhar, Al Khabourah, Al Salam, and Majees, with a total outlay of RO 1,075,000.
