Seminar explores role of private sector in GCC

MUSSCAT: A two-day seminar hosted by the Ministry of Economy kicked off today to explore economic and development integration in the GCC.


The seminar is titled “The Role of the Private Sector in Economic Diversification in GCC States”.


The opening ceremony was held under the auspices of Dhafir Awad Al Shanfari, Chairman of the Economic and Financial Committee at the State Council.


Moreover, the event explored mechanisms of establishing a highly competitive private sector in the region which can compete on the international arena. It also highlighted the role of the private sector in realising the initiatives, projects and programmes of GCC economic integration.


All findings of the seminar will be submitted to the ministerial permanent preparatory committee of the GCC Economic and Development Affairs Authority.
