Jusoor, OCCI sign agreement to strengthen business community in North Al Batinah

Suhar: Jusoor Foundation signed an agreement of cooperation with the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) branch in North Al Batinah that aims at establishing a cooperative and mutual relationship, including enhancing economic growth and development opportunities and to strengthen and improve the local business community in the governorate.


The agreement was signed by Jusoor Foundation's Executive Manager, Jaber bin Sulaiman al Busaidi, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the OCCI in North Al Batinah, Said bin Ali al Abri.


Additionally, the agreement aims to enhance cooperation between Jusoor Foundation and the Chamber's branch in North Al Batinah in various areas, such as promoting economic growth and exchanging expertise and resources, enhancing transparency and trust by defining the responsibilities and commitments of each partner and specifying the necessary mechanisms to achieve the agreement's goals.


It also aims to enhance the positive image of Jusoor and its funding companies such as OQ, Sohar Aluminium, and Vale in Oman, and contribute to supporting social responsibility initiatives, the education sector and entrepreneurship.


Said al Abri emphasised that the responsibilities and roles of the Chamber's branch in this agreement include supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises in North Al Batinah that align with the goals of the Chamber in North Al Batinah and the private sector.


It also involves supporting and facilitating interaction between the two parties, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and skills development, and exploring new opportunities for the benefit of both parties. Moreover, Jusoor Foundation will have access to the OCCI's database for entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises in North Al Batinah, ensuring a smooth exchange of news updates and tender opportunities. In addition, it will synchronise its annual business calendar with the Chamber, including conferences, forums and workshops, focusing on events that align with the specific goals outlined in the agreement.


Jaber al Busaidi explained that the foundation's roles in this agreement include encouraging its employees to share expertise in private sector areas as part of knowledge exchange initiatives based on their availability and experiences in this field. It also involves supporting entrepreneurs and small and medium enterprises in North Al Batinah by providing access to the Chamber members from small and medium enterprises to participate in tenders offered by Jusoor Foundation, which align with the goals and objectives of the Chamber and the private sector. He extended an invitation to members of the Chamber in North Al Batinah to visit the facilities for research purposes.
