Muscat: Oman's Met Office on Sunday issued a thunder rain alert ver parts of the Hajar Mountains extending to the coast of the Sea of ​​Oman today till 10pm.


"Cumulus cloud activity over parts of the Hajar Mountains extending to the coast of the Sea of ​​Oman today (Sunday), with chances of thunderstorms at times, accompanied by active descending winds that lead to the flow of valleys and reefs during the afternoon and evening periods," a statement from the weather agency said.

The mountanious areas of South Al Batinah , Al Dakhiliya, Muscat, North Al Sharqiyah and South Al Sharqiyah Governorates abd may extend to coastal areas of Sea of Oman.


Rainfalls ranging between(10-30)mm and downdraft wind(20-25)kt, poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thundershowers, flash floods also is expected.


Meanwhile, Qarn Alam recorded the highest temperature of 35.6° degrees celsius during the last 24 hours and Jabal Shams recorded lowest temperature of 6.2° degrees celsius.
