Met predicts heavy rains in parts of Oman

Muscat: Oman's Weather Office on Saturday issued a heavy rain alert for Al Hajar mountain range areas including Muscat starting at 12pm till 8pm.

"Heavy rains expected over Al Dakhyliah, South Batinah, North Batinah, Muscat, Ad Dhahirah, North al Sharqiyah and al Buraimi. Heavy rainfall ranging between 10-30mm and poor visibility during thundershowers with downdraft wind is expected on Saturday," a statement from the Met Office said.

Met warned of overflowing wadis and urged people to stay away from low-lying areas.
