Muscat: There are chances of occasional thunderstorms accompanied by active downward winds leading to the flow of wadis, according to Oman Meterology.

The weather forecast stated that there are chances of low clouds or fog patches at late night to early morning along parts of coastal areas of the Arabian Sea.

The thunderstorm alert is on for the mountainous areas of South Al Batinah, North Al Batinah, Al Dakhiliya, Al Buraimi, Al Dhahira, and North Al Sharqiyah governorates starting at 1 pm and expected to continue until 10 pm.

The rainfall is expected to range between 15-30 mm and the downdraft wind is expected to have a speed of 15 - 20 knots, which could result in dust rising and poor horizontal visibility.
