Muscat: Oman Meteorology has issued an alert regarding the heavy rains expected this evening (until 10 pm), which are accompanied by active downwind on the Hajar Mountains, neighboring areas, and parts of the Dhofar Governorate.
The mountainous areas of South al Batinah, Al Dakhiliyah, Al Dhahirah, A Buraimi, and North al Sharqiyah and Dhofar Governorates will be affected by rains.
To ensure safety, people have been warned to move away from low places and wadis, and not attempt to swim in wadis
There will be rainfall in the range of (10-35)mm Downdraft wind (20-35) knots and poor horizontal visibility due to dust rising during thundershowers.
Do not risk crossing wadis to protect yourself and those with you in the vehicle, Oman Meteorology said.
