SALALAH: The Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion organized an Investment Climate Development Forum in Salalah on Monday, October 16, 2023.
The event was held under the patronage of His Highness Sayyid Marwan bin Turki al Said, Governor of Dhofar, at the Sultan Qaboos Youth Culture and Entertainment Complex in Salalah. The primary goal of this forum was to bolster the investment environment in Dhofar Governorate, with a particular focus on attracting quality investments to the region.
During the forum, the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Investment Promotion delivered a visual presentation on the National Program for Investment and Export Development, known as "Nizdihar." It also showcased the "Invest in Oman" platform, which serves as a unified gateway for comprehensive services to investors and highlights investment opportunities exceeding RO 1 million.
The forum was conducted in collaboration with relevant government and private entities. The Ministry’s Director-General in Dhofar Governorate underscored the ministry's commitment to shedding light on the collective government efforts aimed at creating an investment-friendly environment, diversifying income sources, and attracting capital.
There were also presentations by representatives of other government bodies, including the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism, Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources, and the Dhofar Municipality.
The Investment Climate Development Forum served as a platform to review the roles played by various entities in the investment sector, highlight key investment opportunities, discuss plans for enhancing the investment environment in the Governorate, and showcase the joint efforts in promoting investment. This event contributed to fostering a more conducive investment climate in Dhofar.
