Ali al Said qualifies for World Endurance Cup

Muscat: HH Sayyid Ali bin Ghalib al Said, succeeded in passing the penultimate qualifying race to the World Endurance Cup in France next year, after he got thro German Buch Race for a distance of 140 km.


The participation lasted for 12 hours and 30 minutes in five stages, the first stage was 35 km, the second stage was 25 km, the third stage was 35 km, the fourth stage was 25 km, and the fifth stage was 20 km, the speed average was 16.2 km per hour due the very cold weather.


The qualifying races witnessed 17 riders in the 140 km category and more than 70 riders in the various distances from 80 km to 160 km, competing to obtain qualifying cards for the World Cup finals.


The knight had previously successfully passed a number of races scheduled for him during the last period, along with his brother, HH Sayyid Loay bin Ghalib al Said, in Germany's Buch and in Slovakia, representing the Sultanate of Oman, by the Oman Equestrian Racing Federation.


The two riders have only one step left to be in the next World Cup finals, 160 km Slovakia race in the three-star Monsef race, to be the first riders qualified for the World Endurance Cup finals.


HH Sayyid Ali bin Ghalib, said: “This victory is important for us in order to represent the Sultanate of Oman in the great sporting forum for endurance with the rest of the world's top riders. Our riders are accustomed to being in such tournaments. We have successfully passed important stages, and we have only one step left to reach the finals. Slovakia has been selected as the qualifying station, and we hope that we will succeed in that.”
