

MUSCAT: International jockeys HH Sayyid Loay bin Ghalib al Said and HH Sayyid Ali bin Ghalib al Said are inching closer to win spots in the World Endurance Championship as they won the titles of the Buch Endurance Festival in Germany. The festival was organised under an numerable of FIE and it is among the races which are qualified to the next edition of the World Endurance Championship.
The triumph meant, both jockeys moved a step ahead towards their road to attend the World Endurance Championship. One more race is remaining for HH Sayyid Loay to confirm his attendance in the forthcoming world class event while one more qualifier race is pending for HH Sayyid Ali on horse 'Efala' while two more qualifier races are pending on 'Atela'.
The upcoming event for HH Sayyid Loay will very crucial as he will take part in the Munbareez race, France which is allocated for a distance of 160 km. He will eye to pass the race and earn a direct spot to the world Championship. HH Sayyid Loay on 'Elsa De Faust' managed to clinch the first place in the race of 140 km (three stars category) for Buch Endurance Festival in Germany after he ended the race on the top among 70 participants from different European jockeys. HH Sayyid Ali won the top title in the 140 km race (two stars category) which was divided into two days. The German race in Buch is classified as the most difficult race in the qualifying stage.
After the race end, HH Sayyid Loay sounded confident that he managed to pass one of the most critical stage in the qualifiers. “I am very pleased to pass this stage in Buch and one round is pending towards our attendance in the World Championship. Our focus is shifted now to the last stage of the qualifiers, and I will deliver my level best towards reaching to the World Championship. Oman’s jockeys used to attend the top equestrian events," he added.
HH Sayyid Loay and HH Sayyid Ali dedicated their titles to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik and to the HH Sayyid Theyazin bin Haitham al Said, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth and to all the equestrian family in Oman.
“We are very proud of the achievement at the Buch Endurance Festival in Germany. This accomplishment reflected the development of the equestrian sport in the country. I believe we passed a crucial part in our qualifiers and there is one more stage which we hope to end on a successful note. We will work hard in the coming period to secure slot for the world event and raise our national flag,” HH Sayyid Ali said.
