The project execution has already begun according to the executive plan which includes fencing the farm, digging wells, installing a modern irrigation network, and planting 4,000 fig seedlings in a first phase. An additional 5,000 fig seedlings will be planted by the end of this year and the plantation process will continue until reaching 16,000 seedlings on an area 16.5 acres. Once fully operational, the project will have a capacity to produce about 5,000 to 7,000 tonnes of figs annually, Al Miqbali said. — ONA
