

SUHAR: The office of the Governor North Al Batinah announced the establishment of two new gardens and four parks in a number of wilayats of the governorate with a total area exceeding 131,000 sq m as part of the governorate’s efforts to set up public entertainment places for all society segments.
Engineer Sulaiman bin Hamad al Sunaidy, Director-General of North Al Batinah Governorate, stated that tenders have been floated for the construction of the parks and the gardens which aim to increase existing green places and afforestation areas and contribute to achieving the Sultanate of Oman’s carbon neutral strategy by 2040.
Speaking to Oman News Agency, Al Sunaidy said that the first of these gardens is the waterfront park in the Wilayat of Shinas on an area of 30,000 square metres. It consists of green spaces, shaded areas, children’s playgrounds, prayer halls for men and women, a fountain, among other facilities. The second one is the Jasmine Park in Al Bidaya area in the Wilayat of Al Suwaiq on an area of 26,878 square metres. It comprises green areas, children’s playgrounds, sports games, shaded areas and other facilities.
The four parks are: Al Dhuwaihir Park in the Wilayat of Al Khaboura which will be built on an area of 3,032 square metres and comprises children’s playground, shaded places, and service facilities. Al Khuwairat Park in the Wilayat of Al Khaboura on an area of 57,000 square metres and consists of games for children’s playgrounds, shaded areas, investment sites, and service facilities. Al Bax Park in the Wilayat of Al Khaboura on an area of 870 square metres. It comprises children’s playgrounds, shaded areas and other service facilities. Mikhailif Park in the Wilayat of Saham on an area of 13,000 square metres. It comprises children’s playgrounds, shaded areas, among other service facilities, he concluded. — ONA
